The Tarren Range: The Hidden Mountains 2026 Open Group Dates: Sunday 31st May 2026 Tuesday 25th August 2026 £75 per person | Small Group Journey | Guaranteed to Run The Tarren Range occupies the wild upland between Cadair Idris and the Afon Dyfi. Featuring the two 2000ft peaks of Tarren y Gesail (667m) and Tarrenhendre (633m), these are the most southerly mountains in Eryri. Their unheard nature and sweeping ridgelines make for a superb day of exploration in a landscape that feels "hidden in plain sight." THE ROUTE: Beginning in Corris Uchaf, our circuit covers approximately 20km with 1000-1400m of ascent. We transition from steep-sided forested valleys and logging tracks onto high, sweeping grassy ridges. Depending on group energy, we have the option to include the additional summit of Graig Goch (586m). The topography here is unique: the steep forests hide the high-mountain plateaus from the valley floor, ensuring total isolation once we break the tree line. CORE HIGHLIGHTS: The Southern Sentinels: Summit the two most southerly mountains in the National Park. Cadair Idris Views: Enjoy a dramatic, close-up perspective of the Cadair Idris massif just 10km to the North. Remote Ridges: Traverse high-level grassy ridges that link the summits together, offering a vast sense of scale looking toward Pumlumon and Mid Wales. WHY BOOK THE TARREN RANGE?
