Expect around 50km on foot, close to 4,000m of ascent, exposed Grade 1 scrambling, rough descents, sustained climbs and serious fatigue by the final range. This isn’t simply a long walk. It’s one of the biggest mountain challenges in Wales. WHY MOUNTAIN CRAFT? The value of being guided is in the pacing, judgement, route choice and decisions made throughout the challenge. Attempts often unravel at predictable points including Crib Goch, the Glyderau, Tryfan, Pen yr Ole Wen and the final Carneddau section. The aim is a strong, steady attempt with realistic pacing and clear decisions throughout. HOW THE EVENT WORKS A three-person Mountain Craft team operates across the challenge. Two leaders are on the mountain while the third manages the support vehicle, checkpoints and withdrawals. The team rotates across the three main ranges, keeping leadership fresh and support consistent. Jacob remains directly involved and will normally guide two of the three mountain sections. WHAT’S INCLUDED Two leaders on the hill Support vehicle at key valley points Drop bags and water refills Hot drinks and food resupply Spare layers and batteries at checkpoints First aid and withdrawal support Pre-event kit and logistics information Weather-aware route and timing decisions You’ll still need to carry the correct kit, manage your own food between checkpoints and look after yourself on the mountain. WHO IT’S FOR You’ll need strong hill fitness, experience of long mountain days, confidence on exposed terrain and ideally previous Grade 1 scrambling or Crib Goch experience. This is for people who want a serious attempt with small-group pacing, clear leadership and support. Accommodation, personal hill food, personal kit and travel to or from the start and finish are not included unless agreed separately. The route, timing and plan may be adapted if weather, conditions or group safety require it.
