The core aim of Mountain Craft is to open up the chance for you to discover the lesser-known mountains and hills of Snowdonia, North Wales. With Mountain Craft's guided experiences, you have an opportunity to explore the mountains in a new light.
Whether you seek remote and challenging summits, hidden away routes or solitary escapes into the hills, there is a route for you in our constantly updated rotation of around 30 activities. Choose Mountain Craft to open up your world to such wonders as the Rhinogydd, Aran Fawddwy and Nantlle, or to tick off ultra classic routes including Crib Goch, Tryfan and the Carneddau.
Mountain Craft is also an expert provider of guided long distance challenge walks. You could be setting foot into the world of long distances for the first time, or maybe you are a hardened ultra-distance veteran, either way we can guarantee a trail and challenge that you will not have come across before.
Choose from the classic Welsh 3000s challenge (24 hours or 3 days), the esoteric Hiraethog Trail which hides in plain sight or a completely bespoke multi-day itinerary across the landscapes of North Wales.

Meet Jacob
Mountain Craft is the culmination of my time living, working and playing in the mountains of North Wales for the last ten years. I'm lucky enough to live on the edge of Eryri/Snowdonia National Park with my young family and Rufus the cocker spaniel.
Mountain Craft gives me the freedom to offer guided adventures completely bespoke to your needs and aspirations, whilst tapping into my local knowledge and enthusiasm for quiet backwaters.
I absolutely love the hills, mountains and crags of North Wales. I have enjoyed hundreds of days walking, scrambling and climbing - including more than 300 unique summits in the region and over 500 individual climbing routes.
On my days off you can find me eyeing up historical climbing routes on Lliwedd or Tryfan, scrambling up a nameless rocky ridge on the Aran, walking to the summit of a forgotten Welsh foothill with Rufus or in the forest foraging brewing ingredients for my next wild fermented beers, wines & meads.
My personal explorations have taken me walking and climbing - in summer and winter conditions - all over England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland but also internationally to the Alps and Himalayas.
I am a qualified Mountain Leader and Rock Climbing Instructor. These are official Mountain Training qualifications that allow me to instruct and lead the adventures that I offer.
I also have years of experience working in the tourist industry of North Wales and my knowledge of local history, culture, geography and legendary tales add enrichment to my guided days.

Many of the activities listed online are available to be booked immediately but I can also work with you to provide a completely bespoke programme whether for a company event, family holiday, charity fundraiser or a personal challenge.

You can currently add-on the Welsh 3000s print when booking the 24 hour or 3 day challenges but for any retrospective orders please get in contact. These high quality prints come in a selection of colours and can be ordered in Cymraeg or English. They will be available to take home at the end of your challenge.
