While I don’t typically offer standard walking-path ascents, I specialize in the more technical and challenging ways to experience Wales' highest peak.

Sea to Summit (45k): A serious endurance challenge starting from the coast and finishing on the summit.
Private Guiding: If you are looking for a quieter, more adventurous route like the South Ridge or a technical ascent, I am available for private bookings.

Do the guided walks cover other areas?

Absolutely. While many of my signature challenges take place on the Glyderau, Carneddau and Snowdon/Yr Wyddfa, I provide professional guiding across the entirety of North Wales.

Whether you want to explore the rugged Rhinogydd, the remote reaches of the Arenig mountains, or a specific peak off the beaten track, I can design a bespoke itinerary for you. I offer flexible meeting points to suit your accommodation or travel plans.

Can we book a sunrise climb or an overnight camp?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. There is no better way to experience Eryri (Snowdonia) than seeing the sun rise from a summit or spending a night under the stars.

Sunrise Ascents: Perfect for Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), Tryfan, or the Glyderau. These are bespoke private bookings tailored to your pace and fitness.

Wild Camping Expeditions: I offer multi-day mountain journeys that include remote wild camping. This is a fantastic way to learn mountain skills, kit management, and leave-no-trace ethics.

Do I need any special equipment or clothing?

Accepted Answer

For standard mountain walking, you don’t need specialized technical gear, but suitable mountain clothing and footwear are essential for your safety and comfort.

The Basics: You will need sturdy walking boots or shoes, waterproof layers, and a comfortable rucksack.

Specialist Gear: For climbing sessions, I provide all necessary technical equipment (helmets, harnesses, etc.) at no extra cost.

Expert Advice: Once you book, I will send you a detailed, activity-specific kit list so you know exactly what to bring.

Is it safe? What happens if the weather is bad?

Safety is my absolute priority. I am professionally trained to manage mountain risks, and I hold a current Outdoor First Aid certificate.

While it’s normal to experience "four seasons in one day" in Eryri, we handle it through preparation:

Inclement Weather: With the right clothing and footwear, most wind and rain won't stop the adventure. I monitor the MWIS (Mountain Weather Information Service) and Met Office forecasts leading up to our day.

Flexible Itineraries: If the forecast is unsuitable for your chosen peak (e.g., high winds on a ridge), I will suggest a more sheltered, high-quality alternative so you still get your day on the hill.

Safety First: In the rare event of dangerous conditions (such as lightning or extreme weather warnings), we will discuss rescheduling or a refund as per my Booking Terms & Conditions.

Question 6

Can children or dogs come along?

Accepted Answer

I am happy to include families and dogs, provided the route is safe and appropriate for everyone involved.

Children: Younger adventurers are welcome as part of a private booking. I often tailor these days to focus on engagement and mountain skills. Please contact me before booking to discuss the best routes for your child’s age and experience.

Dogs: Well-behaved dogs with mountain experience are generally welcome on walking days. However, for safety reasons, dogs are not permitted on technical scrambling or climbing sessions (e.g., Crib Goch or Tryfan). Owners must follow the Countryside Code regarding livestock and leads.
