PRIVATE WELSH 3000s CHALLENGE
A private Welsh 3000s attempt planned around your experience, objective and the conditions.
This can be a first attempt, unfinished business after an earlier weather-limited day, or a more ambitious time target for somebody who already knows the challenge.
THE OBJECTIVE
The Welsh 3000s links all fifteen 3000ft summits across Yr Wyddfa, the Glyderau and the Carneddau.
The standard private option is a lightweight, self-supported attempt with Jacob throughout.
Food, water, equipment and logistics are planned beforehand so the day can move continuously without relying on staffed checkpoints.
THE PLANNING
Every booking starts with a planning call covering experience, fitness, previous attempts, route strategy, pacing, nutrition, equipment, timings and weather.
On the mountain, the pace and decisions are adapted around you and the conditions.
Support vehicles, checkpoints, bag drops and additional Mountain Craft support can be added where useful.
DIFFERENT TARGETS
For many clients the objective is simply a strong completion inside 24 hours.
Targets around 21 or 18 hours can also be discussed individually.
Significantly quicker attempts become a different proposition involving more running, additional support and different pacing.
PROOF
Justin and Jacquie completed all fifteen summits privately in 20 hours 48 minutes after returning from an earlier weather-limited attempt.
Anna later completed her private Welsh 3000s after two previous attempts had been affected by poor weather.
