Tryfan: The North Ridge

Have you been waiting and hoping to reach the summit of the legendary Tryfan? Here is your opportunity to scramble along the iconic North Ridge of Tryfan to what is considered one of the hardest won mountain summits in Wales. The route will be no more than 8km in distance with around 700m in ascent which might sound modest but we will spend a significant amount of time on rocky ground - moving slowly, deliberately and safely. The order of the day completely depends on the weather conditions and strength of the group but Tryfan has multiple routes up, down and around at the grade-one scramble mark. We will usually ascend the North Ridge and descend either the South Ridge of the Western Gully. Alternative ascents could include parts of the Heather Terrace, Eastern Traverse Path and the South Ridge - whichever route we end up taking will still lead us to the standing summit stones of Adam & Eve. What's Included: A full day of guided walking & scrambling from a qualified, experienced & insured mountain leader in a small (max 1:4) and personal group. Opportunities to improve your personal mountain skillset. An emphasis on education around the landscape, local knowledge, wildlife & more. Advice regarding local travel & accommodation, specific information on getting to Ogwen. Required Experience: This is a physically demanding day with lots of exposure and serious scrambling. You must have experience on similar grade one scrambles and preferably with Mountain Craft.
