Crib Goch & The Snowdon Horseshoe

The Snowdon Horseshoe or Pedol yr Wyddfa, must be the best mountain day of it's kind in Wales. The iconic knife-edged ridge of Crib Goch, walking off of Garnedd Ugain to the surprise of the walkers on the Llanberis path and the sheer scale of walking over the top of Lliwedd's mighty cliffs - it really doesn't get better. The route totals 14km with a total ascent of just over 1200 metres, this demanding day can take 7-8 hours. Meeting at Pen-y-Pass, close to the village of Llanberis, we begin along the Snowdon 'trade route' that is the Pyg Track. We then branch off and scramble up to & along the exposed but stunning ridge of Crib Goch, definitely the highlight of the day. Crib Goch is followed by the ridge of Crib y Ddysgl and our second summit of the day, Garnedd Ugain. Easier walking terrain then takes us past the summit of Snowdon where a steep descent along part of the Watkin Path leads us to the rocky ridge-like mountain of Lliwedd before our final descent towards the Miner's Track & Pen-y-Pass. What's Included: A full day of guided walking & scrambling from a qualified, experienced & insured mountain leader in a small (max 1:4) and personal group. Opportunities to improve your personal mountain skillset. An emphasis on education around the landscape, local knowledge, wildlife & more. Advice regarding local travel & accommodation, specific information on getting to/from Pen-y-Pass. Required Experience: This is a physically demanding day with lots of exposure and serious scrambling. You must have experience on similar grade one scrambles and preferably with Mountain Craft.
