Technical & Winter Mountain Days

TECHNICAL & WINTER MOUNTAIN DAYS Private specialist mountain days for advanced scrambling, rock climbing and winter mountaineering. Rich Hazelby, Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor (MCI), leads advanced scrambling, rock climbing and technical mountaineering days. Alex Battery, Winter Mountain Leader (Winter ML), leads private winter mountain days when suitable winter conditions are present. THE DAY The exact focus is built around your experience, objectives and the conditions. Technical days can include Grade 2/3 scrambling, classic rock routes, introductory climbing, multi-pitch climbing, roped scrambling or learn-to-lead coaching. Winter days can include movement with axe and crampons, winter navigation, route choice and travelling safely through winter mountain terrain. If conditions are not genuinely wintry, we would rather change the plan or date than pretend wet mountain ground is a winter course. WHO IT’S FOR Choose this option if you want to progress beyond Grade 1 scrambling, focus on rock climbing and technical terrain, or develop your winter mountain skills. For Crib Goch, Tryfan North Ridge, Nantlle Ridge, Daear Ddu or general Grade 1 scrambling, choose Private Mountain Day instead. WHAT’S INCLUDED A full private specialist mountain day with the appropriately qualified Mountain Craft instructor, including route planning, coaching, mountain judgement and pre-event advice. Technical climbing equipment is provided where required. For winter days, clients will normally bring or hire suitable winter boots, axe and crampons. We’ll provide kit and hire guidance beforehand. GUIDE PRICES 1–2 people: from £395 Larger private groups: by request where the objective, conditions and appropriate ratio allow. HOW REQUESTS WORK Choose a preferred date, or give us a rough date range, and tell us a little about your experience and what you would like to achieve. No payment is taken when you enquire. We’ll check the objective, conditions and specialist availability before confirming the plan and sending a secure payment link.
