Moel Siabod: The Daear Ddu Ridge PRIVATE GUIDED SCRAMBLING From £375 for 1–4 people The ultimate introduction to mountain scrambling? We think so. Rising above Capel Curig, Moel Siabod’s Daear Ddu Ridge is the perfect place for mountain walkers taking their first steps into scrambling. Booked as a private day, the pace and coaching can be shaped around your experience, confidence and goals. No previous scrambling experience is required. THE ROUTE Starting from Capel Curig, we walk through woodland and into increasingly rugged terrain before reaching Llyn y Foel beneath the ridge. Daear Ddu rises above the lake through short, stepped sections of grippy rock. The scrambling is an approachable Grade 1, with plenty of opportunities to practise movement, balance and route choice without feeling rushed. After reaching the summit, we descend the northern side and return to Capel Curig. The standard route is approximately 10km with 800m of ascent, although the day can be adapted to suit the group. CORE HIGHLIGHTS DAEAR DDU RIDGE Experience one of the finest introductory Grade 1 scrambles in Wales. BUILD SCRAMBLING CONFIDENCE Develop secure footwork, effective hand placement, balance and movement skills under professional guidance.
