Moel Siabod: Daear Ddu Ridge

We think so! Moel Siabod is a uniquely lone-standing mountain above the village of Capel Curig and directly opposite Yr Wyddfa/Snowdon. Being accessible but still quiet and having a great ridge route like the Daear Ddu Ridge is just perfect for us. Walking from the eastern end of Capel Curig, woodland & farmland lead on to mountain terrain past lakes and a quarry pool to the base of the ridge itself. Excellent grippy rock rears up in short steps at around the lower end of grade-1 scrambling, this setting is ideal to increase your scrambling skills & confidence whilst having the ability to spot, coach and ensure your safety. The summit arrives quicker than you think, we descend the northern flank of Moel Siabod into woodland where good tracks take us alongside the river back through Capel Curig. The route in its entirety is only a little over 10km long with 800 metres of ascent but what we do have is an excellent excuse to take our time and really hone those movement & safety skills on steep terrain +++to finish+++ What's Included: A full day of guided walking from a qualified, experienced & insured mountain leader in a small and personal group. Opportunities to improve your personal mountain skillset. An emphasis on education around the landscape, local knowledge, wildlife & more. Advice regarding local travel & accommodation. Required Experience: This is a relatively demanding day, but suitable for mountain walkers looking to progress.
