The Nantlle Ridge is one of the finest ridge journeys in Eryri. Sitting on the western edge of the national park, it feels quieter than the busier central mountains, with big views towards Yr Wyddfa, the Llŷn Peninsula and the Irish Sea. This is a proper mountain day with rocky paths, grassy ridges and short sections of simple hands-on scrambling. It is not highly technical, but it does require good fitness, sure footwork and a steady head in places. THE ROUTE: Meeting in Rhyd Ddu, we traverse the ridge end-to-end towards Nebo, following the full skyline across seven summits. The route is around 15km with roughly 1000m of ascent, reaching its highest point on Craig Cwm Silyn at 734m. The interest builds as the ridge develops, with changing terrain, open views and enough rocky movement to make it feel like a real mountain journey. CORE HIGHLIGHTS: Seven Summit Traverse: Cross the main Nantlle summits from Y Garn towards the final descent. Quieter Western Eryri: A wilder edge-of-the-park feel, away from the busiest routes. Hands-On Terrain: Simple scrambling sections that help build confidence on rocky ground. Coastal Views: Wide views towards the Llŷn Peninsula and Irish Sea, with Yr Wyddfa behind you on a clear day. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: You should be comfortable with a full mountain day of around 15km and 1000m of ascent. The scrambling is simple, but you should be happy using your hands on rocky ground and dealing with some exposure. WHAT'S INCLUDED: Expert guiding and mountain coaching in a small group. Route choice, navigation, pacing and mountain decision-making. Pre-event advice on kit, fitness and local logistics. Transport coordination back to the start once numbers are finalised.
