While not a mandatory requirement, this day provides a vital opportunity to familiarise yourself with the technical crux of the route and experience a significant day of elevation gain under professional guidance. CORE OBJECTIVES • The Crib Goch Traverse: We tackle the infamous knife-edge ridge, generally considered the technical "crux" of the Welsh 3000s. A 24-hour challenge is not the ideal place to learn scrambling; this day allows you to cross it comfortably and build the necessary confidence. • Vertical Training: We aim for a total elevation gain of at least 2000m. Usually based in the Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) range, this gives you a realistic benchmark for your fitness and a taste of what a major mountain day feels like. • Expert Q&A: You will spend the day with Jacob, the lead guide for our Welsh 3000s events. Use this time to quiz him on everything from logistics and nutrition to kit choice and pacing. WHY BOOK A PREP DAY? • Build Certainty: Ensure you are physically and mentally ready for the full challenge. • Guaranteed to Run: Like all our events, once you book, your place is confirmed regardless of participant numbers. • Small Group Focus: We keep groups small to ensure you get personal attention and coaching on technical ground. WHATS INCLUDED • A full day of expert guiding and mountain coaching. • Pre-event support and kit advice. • A realistic benchmark of your mountain fitness.
